Creation Museum

After our trip to Michigan we headed home, the long way, so we could stop in Kentucky and visit the Creation Museum. We have been so looking forward to spending a day there, especially since we've had the privilege of meeting Mr. Ken Ham and hearing him speak at the home school conferences we've attended in the last two years. We arrived at the museum at 10am (one hour after it opened) and stayed until closing. There was still so much to see! I highly recommend to anyone who is thinking about going, do it!! Also leave yourselves two whole days so you can completely enjoy and experience the museum. It truly is awesome!
Seeing our first dinosaur outside the museum
 He's huge!

Wow Daddy what's that??
There are dinosaurs all around us
We found some petrified wood, just like Jonathan Park
Wouldn't want to come across this guy after the Fall.
Some reasons we can KNOW God's Word is TRUTH.
Defending God's Word to the critics
We must take Him at His Word. God said, I believe it, that settles it.
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27 So which one is our closest kin? Let's face it, an ape is an ape and a person is a person, made in the image of God.
Walking into the garden of Eden.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8
The Creation Museum's next big project and a life sized ark isn't all that they will have! The Ark Encounter
Learning about dinosaurs and dragons with Mr. Buddy Davis
David and Aiden both got to make a dragon out of clay. Did you know that the word "dinosaur" is not in the Bible? Do you know it? It's because the word "dinosaur" wasn't invented until 1841 by Sir Richard Owen. The word "dragon" however appears in the Bible 19 times. Interesting huh?
Meeting Mr. Buddy Davis. What an amazing ministry he is a part of there with Answers in Genesis
The Dragon up on the wall is the one we were trying to make out of clay. Mr. Buddy Davis made that display along with many others throughout the museum.
 T-Rex skull, wowey!
This is what he probably looked like with all his skin on, yikes!
 One of Mommies favorite dinosaurs.
 And don't we forget it!!
Taking a ride on a trusting ole 3 horn
Checking out what it may have looked like inside the Ark
 A saber tooth fossil
All of the answers to our questions can be found in God's Word
 More questions answered
Some history of God's promises, and His word never fails! "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35
Checking out some more fossils and bones of different creatures.
We had such a great time at the Creation Museum and already cannot wait until we can go back again. It is so encouraging and challenging to have a ministry that focuses on getting the truth out about creation. It was a reminder to us, as 1 Peter 3:13 says, "But santify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"
Thank you Answers in Genesis for your commitment to TRUTH.

Trip to Michigan - Part 8 - U.P. here we come!

Yay, we have finally made it to our last Trip to Michigan blog post. Not that I am excited that this trip is over, but wowey it took me long enough to blog about it and now I have almost 3 months of catching up to do, phew, I'm tired!
So our the last leg of our journey to Michigan was to head to my dad & Julie's house in Marquette. It had been since their wedding in June of 2010 that we had been there last so we were really excited to go. We had a wonderful time in their "new" house seeing all of the upgrades and renovations since the wedding. It looks great! Thank you so much for sharing your new basement with us. We especially enjoyed the movie theater room and the real popcorn and candy! What a blast!
Stopping at Murdick's Fudge for some seriously good fudge.
After we crossed the Mackinaw Bridge, we pulled over to check out the Cut River Bridge. we walked down the stairs to Lake Michigan. It was absolutely beautiful.
 My favorite guys
Big boy on a log.Getting this picture was an adventure in and of itself. Thanks honey :)
 Lake Michigan
 Fresh water, yay!
Checking out the Mackinaw Bridge in the distance
 It's a loooooong way down
 "By guys!"
This is the lookout that Jim took me to when he asked me to marry him in October 2003.
8 years married and looking forward to many, many more!
Enjoying the view with Mommy & Daddy
 Stopping for some ice cream
Up in a birch tree down by one of the houses Mommy grew up in
 Get those leaves Aiden!
Daddy and one of his precious boys
Silly Aiden loved watching Papa &Gma Kino's birds
 Watch the birdie Aiden
Checking out the first house Mommy lived in. My mom & dad built this log cabin house and it is always fun to go back and see how it's doing.
The Giackino Cottage. It is hard to see, but they've added an upper deck with a wall full of windows. Now he's finishing up the glass walkway indoors to get from the loft to the outdoor deck, crazy!
 What a cutie!
Papa Kino & Aiden driving the boat around the lake
 David and his Papa Kino
This day was David's first time swimming by himself, with the assistance of a life jacket. With Daddy by his side, the guys jumped into the water and swam from the boat all the way back to the dock. Way to go David!!!
Thank you again Dad & Julie. We had such a wonderful time!
