Summer so far...

We have had a great time this beginning of summer! Spring was absolutely beautiful with some amazingly mild and enjoyable weather. Summer is proving to be HOT so we've had to find some ways to stay cool, the next few days are in the 100's phew!

This week our friends the McCarthys have been staying with us while moving from Okinawa to Arizona. The kids have had an absolute blast! We have a few more days of fun with them so I'll capture those photos in a later post.

June 21st, the first day of summer was the perfect day to bring out the new kiddie pool and double slip 'n slide. We had our friends the Houghtons and the Wehrmans over for lunch and some serious outdoor fun. Kami and I have vowed to make some time this summer to scrapbook, and though we did get a little bit done, the day was too busy busy to really make headway on the scrapbooks, but the summer has just begun...

The end of that week was the Kids' Night of Aviation at the Havelock Event and Tourist Center. The Houghtons joined us for a fun evening of aircraft and food :) The kids got all kinds of cool free stuff including some wooden airplanes, kites, and some snacks. The evening came to a close with a free movie shown on the huge blow up "fly in" screen. The kids loved it!

Breaking in the new pool before our friends come over.
Aiden wasn't too sure about the water, he preferred pushing his truck around the yard.
David loved the little pool and kept saying, "this is the best thing ever!"
Aiden finally tested out the pool, "is it cold buddy?"
Hunter, Dylan, David, and CJ enjoying the slipe 'n slide.
 It's a race!

Our dear sweet Aiden continues to express his abilities of keeping Mommy on her toes. I think he discovered this and now both he and David enjoy climbing through the cubby holes of the coffee table. :) Nice.
 "I see you Mommy!"
 "Here I come!"
 "I did it!"

Ok, so I think Aiden is just about to perfect the "silly face," taught to David by the Goodfellow girls and the Payne girls oh so long ago...
 Are you ready for it?
 Here it is!
 Super Silly Aiden bo baiden!

The Kids' Night of Aviation:
David and Aiden outside the helicopter
David ready to fly his airplane! (While the Houghtons fly their kites in the backgroud!)
Aiden learned how to fly his airplane too, "Watch me guys!"
 "On your mark, get set..."
"Hey Daddy, does this plane look a bit familiar??"
Kylee & David are ready for flight!
We love our friends the Houghtons!!

Last but certainly not least, here is adorable, sweet Aiden eating a whole banana all by himself. I just can't get over his cuteness.
 and his curls and dipples...
Yum, yum, yum

Stay cool everyone, we'll see ya soon. Perhaps with a little added "surprise" next week! :)

Happy Father's Day!

The Patriarch

More noble than the valiant deeds of shining knights of yore,
More powerful than earthly plights that make the rich man poor
More kingly than a royal throne or a lion with his pride,
Is he whose babes sleep well at night sure Daddy will provide.

There is a spirit in this land and Jezebel’s her name.
She’s calling you to leave your home for power, fun, and fame.
She wants your wife, your children too — she’ll never compromise,
Until your house is torn in two by listening to her lies.

But though a hundred thousand million men may fall prey to her lures,
And wives en masse leave home in search of “more fulfilling” chores,
Though preachers praise, and friends embrace, her pagan plan of death,
Stand strong and quit you like a man with every blessed breath.

Stand strong and rise, O man of God, to meet this noble call,
The battle is not new, you see, it’s been here since the Fall.
Your wife is your helpmeet, my friend, and not another man’s,
So care for her and keep her far from Mistress Jezi’s plans.
Protect, provide, and give to her your undivided life,
This is the dear one of your youth, your precious bride, your wife.

And rally to those tiny ones who trust you for their care —
A lifetime spent discipling them’s a lifetime pure and rare.
For when they put their hand in yours and know a Daddy’s love,
You’re showing them a picture of the Father from above.

Look not toward worldly goal or gain, or for your liberty,
Look only into their sweet eyes to find your ministry.
Devote your heart and sacrifice and make your manly mark —
There is none so great as he who finds his call as patriarch.
